Cari Campbell, Owner/CEO, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and International Studies from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, after working as a paralegal/law clerk for five years in the Dubuque area. Thereafter, she attended law school at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was at the top of her class in Legal Research and Writing, Business Organizations, Property Law, and Federal Administrative Law.
Cari moved back to Dubuque in 2009 where she served as a prosecuting intern at the Dubuque County Attorney’s Office. Subsequently, she began working in the nonprofit world assisting Dubuque-area nonprofits with various legal and growth needs including strategic planning, grant writing, strategic restructuring, and board development. She also assisted numerous startups with bylaw writing and achieving 501(c)(3) status. While assisting nonprofits with their grant needs, it became apparent that grant writing was very similar to writing legal briefs, and Cari enjoyed these projects immensely. Moreover, she received great pleasure in helping nonprofits secure the funding they deserved.
In her spare time, Cari speaks nationally to nonprofit groups on topics such as grant writing and diversifying funding streams. She also owns and operates Campbell Legal, a law firm based in Kieler, Wisconsin.
Cari has combined her passion for writing and research, her love for nonprofit organizations and the legal profession, and her entrepreneurial spirit to create a highly sought after grants firm.
